Wairarapa TRAVEL GUIDE

Wairarapa occupies the south-east corner of North Island in New Zealand. Meaning of Wairarapa is "Glistening Water" that indicates the waterfalls, rivers and lakes glittering in the sunshine. Wairarapa is in the north of Wellington, and travellers visit Martinborough vineyards or Cape Palliser, the southernmost area of the North Island.  Head up to the Waiohine Gorge at the foot of the Tararuas, and a swing bridge is your entrance to tramping tracks into the ranges. Head intent on Cape Palliser on the coast and you'll submit to the small fishing village of Ngawi wherever you'll see a vibrant array of new bulldozers and tractors put on the beach. Martinborough is that the centre of the native wine trade – take a tour of the vineyards - whereas Greytown has associate field charm and could be a favourite weekend getaway for Wellingtonians. Masterton is that the largest city in Wairarapa region, and very family friendly. Within the centre of town is that the stunning Queen Elizabeth Park, that has one in every of the most uncomplicated children's playgrounds in New Seeland still as a megabat, paddle boats, bike hire, miniature train, skate park, swing bridge and mini golf links.
